Annual awards night for DLSU Lit, Visual Arts on March 1

pr_litaw-visawDe La Salle University-Manila and the Student Media Office, in partnership with Malate Literary Folio, Council of Editors, and Arts College Government, announce the Awarding Ceremony of the 28th DLSU Annual Awards for Literature and the 3rd DLSU Annual Awards for Visual Arts on March 1, 2013 (Friday), 6 pm at the Multi-Purpose Hall, 20th Floor, Br. Andrew Gonzalez Hall, DLSU-Manila.

Also dubbed as LitAw-VisAw, categories of the Annual Awards include Poetry, Tula, Short Story, Maikling Kuwento, Essay, Sanaysay, Drawing, Painting, and Photography. Both contests are open to all bona fide undergraduate students enrolled during the Second Trimester of SY 2012-2013 in any of the participating schools under the De La Salle Philippines (DLSP). A network of 17 Lasallian institutions, the DLSP includes Andres Soriano Memorial College in Cebu, DLS-Araneta University in Malabon City, DLS-Canlubang, College of St. Benilde, DLS-Health Sciences Institute in Cavite, DLS-Dasmariñas, John Bosco College in Surigao del Sur, DLS-Lipa, Santiago Zobel School in Muntinlupa City, Jaime Hilario Integrated School in Bataan, La Salle Academy in Lanao del Norte, La Salle College Antipolo, La Salle Greenhills, La Salle University-Ozamiz, St. Joseph School in Bacolod City, University of St. La Salle-Bacolod, and DLSU-Manila.

Judges in the past years were some of the country’s respected writers and artists like Benilda Santos, Edgar Samar, Marne Kilates, Ricardo de Ungria, Fanny Garcia, Angelo Lacuesta, Ronald Baytan, Constantino Zicarelli, Mariano Ching, Jef Carnay, Alma Quinto, Wawi Navarozza, and many more. The board of judges for this year’s LitAw-VisAw will be revealed during the ceremonies on Friday.

Attire is semi-formal. Guests are asked to register through for an entrance permit to the campus.
