Young Cebuano poets launch new literary and arts magazine

nomadsquarterlyOn March 16, 2013, The Nomads–a group of young Cebuano poets from Visayas and Mindanao–launched their first issue of The Nomads Quarterly, a literary and arts magazine, at La Belle Aurore Bookshop, Hernan Cortes Street, Banilad, Mandaue City, Cebu. It was all about firsts. Young poets shared about their first love, first heartbreak, first man, or first woman, or first bromance, first kiss, or whatever first they had through poems, stories, rants, and everything else.

Published by Bomba! Press, the Nomads Quarterly’s maiden issue featured the work/s of Lawrence Ypil, Januar Yap, Nikay Paredes, Cesar Aquino, Marie Dominique Dela Paz, Butch Bandillo , Karlo Antonio Galay David, Mike Gomez, Anne Lorraine Uy, Johanna Michelle Lim. At same time, the launching was also The Nomads’ poetry event for the month of March as the group holds a monthly reading at the La Belle Aurore Bookshop.

The Nomads is composed of Jona Bering, Erik Tuban, Gratian Paul Redillas Tidor, Cheeno D Borden, Cindy Velasquez, Gen Mijares, Ton Daposala and many more. They welcome unpublished poems, essays, short stories, manuscripts, reviews, art pieces, etc. Financial contributions are also welcome.
