cinefilipino

UPDATED, Sept. 18–CineFilipino Film Festival, a project of the PLDT Smart Foundation in association with MediaQuest, Studio 5 and Unitel Productions, is proud to announce the roster of full-length and short films to be showcased on September 18-24, 2013 at the New Port Cinemas (Resorts World Manila), Gateway Cineplex (Quezon City), and Lucky Chinatown Mall (Binondo). There will also be an additional screening on September 21-22, 2013 at the Shangri-La Plaza Cineplex.

In a press launch last year, CineFilipino festival director Vincent Nebrida announced the festival’s mission “to seek out, support, and develop new cinematic works of artistic merit by up-and-coming and established filmmakers that helped define the human experience through a Filipino perspective”.1

The new indie film festival opened its doors to interested filmmakers last August 2012 and attracted almost 150 entries from across the country. With this overwhelming number of entries, the announcement of finalists was moved from November 2012 to January 2013.2 The screening was twice postponed (March & June) but is finally pushing through this September.
