The DLSU Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing Center awards eleven fellowships for KRITIKA 2014: National Workshop on Art and Cultural Criticism, which will be held at the University of St. La Salle (USLS) in Bacolod on April 20-26, 2014.
The fellows are: Arbeen Acuña (popular culture), Deborrah Anastacio (visual arts), Mark Anthony Angeles (literature), Laurence Marvin Castillo (literature), Rina Garcia Chua (literature), Jose Gutierrez III (film), Bernadette Irinco (popular culture), Rogelio Panuelos, Jr. (popular culture), Maria Portia Olenka Placino (visual arts), David Michael San Juan (literature), and Jeffrey Yap (architecture).
Rolando B. Tolentino, Dean of the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication and BNSCWC Associate Director for Criticism, is workshop director and lead critic for film. The distinguished panel of experts includes Paulo Alcazaren (architecture), Isagani R. Cruz (literature and pop culture), Isidoro M. Cruz (literature), Cid Reyes (visual arts), Jose Victor Torres (cultural history), and Carlo Vergara (graphic fiction). Archt. Rene Luis “Jojo” Mata also serves as lead critic for Negrense cultural tour.
