
The International English Learners Training Institute (IELTI) will hold a seminar-workshop on understanding literary criticism to help enhance and make more effective the teaching of literature on June 12-14, 2015 at the Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza, Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City.
The seminar aims to help participants discuss issues in teaching approaches to text analysis; examine literary texts critically; demonstrate basic knowledge in approaches such as New Criticism, Feminist Criticism, Marxist Criticism, among others; and identify the roles and tasks of both the student and the teacher in understanding literary texts.
The lecturers are Prof. Danilo Francisco M. Reyes, associate chair of the Department of English, Ateneo de Manila University, and Prof. Louie Jon A. Sanchez, poet and scholar, and currently consultant for media programs of the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino.
Live-out registration fee is P3,800, inclusive of lunch (2), snacks (4), seminar kit, handouts, bag, and certificates.
